At the time of the founding in 1966, the ownership was split 50/50 between the Langen family in the Netherlands and Niels Yde. The company was called Northern European Machinery Company – thus the name: Nemco.
As a start the company sold Scotsman ice machines and equipment from Langen, which mainly included machines for the production of self-driven threshing machines for peas and filling machines for cans.
In 1968, Nemco became agent for Vemag Maschinenbau. In 1970 Niels Yde acquired Langen’s shares of the Nemco stock. The same year Kurt Rühmann was employed and Erik Kastberg joined in 1972, both of them as selling engineers.
In 1973, Nemco moved to our current address, Lyngager 13 in Brøndby, where Nemco Trading was housed. Nemco Trading was now selling Scotsman ice machines and Fountain hot beverage machines.
In 1975, Nemco established the subsidiary Nemco Emballage which sells laminated foil.
Niels Yde had the ability to make everybody in the company feel like a big family and make them work together. This positive spirit characterizes Nemco even today.

Upon the successful machinery sales, the company opened up a new branch office in Jutland in 1985 with storage room for clips, foil and spare parts as well as show room, training areas, etc. During this year, Lars Olsgaard joined the company as a sales engineer and became a partner in 1995.
Kurt Rühmann resigned in 1998.
In order to strengthen the company positioning in the Scandinavian Market, Nemco established the Swedish subsidiary Nemco AB in 2000.
Nemco has developed from a small private company to a medium-sized business, since it was founded in 1966. Today, it is one of the most important suppliers of solutions for the Danish food industry – including machines, technical equipment, laminated foils and market solutions.
